Halloween 3D coming in 2010

But it will be Zombie-free, as Mr. Z moves onto other projects...

Published on Aug 31, 2009

Once again Hollywood fails to resist turning a second sequel into a 3D extravaganza, as The Weinstein Company announces that Summer 2010 will bring a third movie in the Halloween reboot kicked off by Rob Zombie, and that the new entry will be filmed in 3D.

Hey, it worked for Jaws 3D.

Errr, moving on...

Mr Zombie himself is off the project, and The Los Angeles Times reports that negotiations are underway for a new helmer with a fresh point of view on the series. Zombie himself is going to have his hands full with his remake of The Blob.

H2 took an okay $17.4 million on opening this weekend, but Final Destination 3D won by a length, showing that the future of horror is in nasty things flying right out of the screen at you...

---- SPOILER ALERT RE HALLOWEEN II --- Hey, it also worked for Michael's colleague Jason Voorhees, back in 1982. More recently, I saw My Bloody Valentine with 3D glasses and was pleasantly surprised by the effective scares and the flying objects towards the audience. However, the next Halloween has to be a reboot, again... "Halloween II is Zombie's attempt to kill off any chance at refranchising Michael."
