Hannah did some challenging stuff... they see her as an up-and-comer

The News Of The World is reporting that Hannah Murray will be the companion in Series 5 of Doctor Who.
Murray is best known for her role as the OCD~suffering Cassie Ainsworth in the E4 show Skins and has seemingly impressed those in charge enough to accompany Matt Smith's Eleventh Doctor in the TARDIS. An unnamed BBC insider said: “Hannah did some challenging stuff in Skins and they see her as an up-and-comer."
The nineteen~year old actress, who starred in Skins for two seasons, has already appeared alongside Smith in the play That Face which also starred Lindsay Duncan - the one off companion for this year's Christmas Special.

Cool, I thought she was excellent in Skins, playing what looked to me to be a rather difficult role superbly. Will be interested to see what they do with her in Dr Who, if the NOTW is right of course.
Great idea.

And I've been championing her for a while now.
What became of the older lady who played Thatcher recently? Is she not going to be a proper companion after all?

I've never watched Skins so have no opinion of the actress, but she has to be better than the last one (can't remember her name) don't get me wrong, she had some amazing scenes, but her acting style seemed to be 2 performances. The emotional, stressed out (and brilliant) performance and the loudmouthed "am I bovvered" that has brought her fame as a comedienne but I personally detest. So hopefully my preconceptions won't get in the way with this actress. And she's hot.

We've already seen Skin's Chris (Joe Dempsie) being poorly used in last years episode 'The Doctor's Daughter' as well as cropping up in Merlin. Hopefully Hannah Murray will fare better in the transition from edgy teen drama to family friendly viewing and not simpy end up as bland and uninteresting as Mr Dempsie's BBC characters were. By the way Cassie was anorexic not OCD.

I've just realised the arrogant tone of my earlier post. Sorry. I just don't like seeing good actors put to waste.

I think Hannah would be perfect especially since the new doctor is so young and it would be a really cool relationship with his companion being nineteen and questioning him about every one of his decisions and stuff and I think that Hannah would be amazing on Doctor who.. They also need to bring the chick who played Jenny back and have something whith them three and have Joe come back.

Gah, I read she isn't going to do it. Shame; I loved her acting in Skins! I think she'd have done a wonderful job...
And yes, Them 1, Cassie was anorexic, but McEwan was right in that the series seemed to be pointing towards her having OCD as well.
