Is Bradley Cooper The Green Lantern?
Simon Brew
Martin Campbell’s big screen Green Lantern flick may have just found its star…
Published on May 6, 2009
It's been reported this morning that a major piece of casting is falling into place for the soon-to-shoot comic book adaptation, The Green Lantern.
The film, which is being directed by GoldenEye/Casino Royale/Mask Of Zorro helmer Martin Campbell, is set to go before the cameras before the year is out. And now it emerges that Bradley Cooper has emerged as a front runner to play the title role.
Cooper may be a relative unknown to many, but he's about to star in the potential comedy sleeper The Hangover, which is due out this summer (and has been directed by Old School helmer Todd Phillips). He also popped up in last year's Jim Carrey vehicle Yes Man, and played Will Tippin in Alias. He was also in Nip/Tuck for a few episodes, and Kitchen Confidential as well.
According to HitFix, while Cooper's casting has not yet been confirmed, the chances it seems are looking really quite good. No other names have thus far been publicly linked with the role, either. Expect confirmation or otherwise over the coming weeks...
