Whisper it, but the line-up for the new RoboCop movie continues to impress. The appointment of director Jose Padilha was a good starting point, and Joel Kinnaman, of The Killing fame, seems a good choice to play the title role.
And the good casting news has carried on coming. Firstly, it was revealed that Gary Oldman was signing up to the movie, playing Norton, the scientist who effectively creates RoboCop. And now? Samuel L Jackson is joining the cast, too.
Jackson is set to play a character by the name of Novak, described as “a charismatic TV mogul” and “a powerful force in the RoboCop world”. He’ll be joining the production once he’s wrapped on Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained.
The new RoboCop movie is set for release in August 2013.
