New casting news, and a story overview, for The Man From U.N.C.L.E. movie
A new press release has filled in a bit of extra information surrounding the movie of The Man From U.N.C.L.E., that Guy Ritchie is directing.
The announcement reveals that the project will start principal photography on September 9th, and confirms that Henry Cavill will be playing Napoleon Solo, Armie Hammer will be Illya Kuryakin, and that Hugh Grant will be Waverly. Furthermore, the release reveals that Jared Harris has also been added to the cast for the film.
As for the outline story for the movie? It's going to centre, as you'd expect, on CIA agent Solo, and KGB agent Kuryakin. And the two of the have to join together. In the words of the release, "Forced to put aside longstanding hostilities, the two team up on a joint mission to stop a mysterious international criminal organization, which is bent on destabilizing the fragile balance of power through the proliferation of nuclear weapons and technology. The duo's only lead is the daughter of a vanished German scientist, who is the key to infiltrating the criminal organization, and they must race against time to find him and prevent a worldwide catastrophe".
The film is set to primarily shoot in the UK, with location work in Italy.
