John Simm on whether he’ll be the new Doctor Who
Simon Brew
A new interview with John Simm answers a question or two about his involvement in the future of Doctor Who…
As the speculation continues over the future of Doctor Who, and who will replace David Tennant in the title role, some have pointed the finger at John Simm as a potential replacement for him. Certainly the way his portrayal of The Master was left at the end of The Last Of The Time Lords makes it possible for him to be so, and after initially reportedly being overwhelmed by the reaction to his appearance in the show, he’s apparently interested in getting involved with Doctor Who again.
But will it be as the new Doctor? That was the question put to him by The Times in an interview they did with the actor. And his answer? “I'm the Master. Simple as that. I don't want to be Doctor Who. I might be the Master again... I'm not allowed to say.”
It’s a really interesting interview, where he also talks about his willingness to do a Life On Mars special, and you can read it here.

Re: John Simm on whether he’ll be the new Doctor WhoEvery time I see JS with that (or a similar) look on his face I think, David, on Coronation Street, could easily play any of Mr Simm's characters' younger selves as a petulant teen. :cD |
