The MLB The Show Players League is off to an entertaining start. After Joey Gallo flexed every muscle in his joystick-holding fingers in a dominant Night 1 performance, another batch of big leaguers dueled it out on MLB The Show 20 on Saturday. The second round of games were much more evenly contested. The players included Niko Goodrum (Tigers), Ty Buttrey (Angels), Jon Duplantier (D-backs), Carl Edwards Jr. (Mariners), Jesús Luzardo (A’s) and Rhys Hoskins (Phillies).

MLB The Show Players League Results and Standings: Night 2

Extra innings. Pulsing DualShock 4s. Walk-offs. We wanted some intensity after the blowouts in night 1, and the guys brought it. The star of the night was clearly Niko Goodrum. Not only did he go 3-1 on the evening, but he did it with his Tigers squad, one of the lowest rated teams in the game. The disadvantage didn’t matter. In the game of the night, Goodrum beat Jon Duplantier’s superiorly rated Diamondbacks in a dramatic, come-from-behind victory. Trailing 4-1 in the third inning, Goodrum started a rally that was capped off with a walk-off home run off the bat of Jordy Mercer. Goodrum got a little excited. Duplantier got over his heartbreak by hitting a walk-off home run with Carson Kelly against Jesús Luzardo.

Here are the night’s results:

Niko Goodrum (Tigers): 3-1
