Paramount+ delivers not only temptation, with an Evil season 3 teaser trailer, but leads to an original sin. The teaser even licks a finger to make it easier to turn the page in The Pop-Up Book of Terrifying Things MMXXI, the fairy tale hardcover which opened each episode of season 2.

For the uninitiated and pre-ordained, Evil explores the dividing line between science and religion. Like The X Files before it, the series mixes monster-of-the-week mayhem with an underlying storyline which continues to pierce dark forces of human and superhuman making. The series focuses on a group of paranormal investigators probing unexplained phenomena for the Catholic Church. They weigh in on cases of demonic possession, hauntings, and help determine true miracles from other mysteries of faith.

Evil Season 3 Release Date

Evil season 3 will run 10 episodes. To delightfully disturb the day of rest, Paramount+ will offer each one a Sunday. Evil will return on Sunday, June 12. The announcement was teased by a mysterious puzzle before Paramount+ just came out and gave us the answer.

Evil Season 3 Cast

Evil stars Katja Herber as Dr. Kristen Bouchard, a forensic psychologist and former mountain climber who just added a new act of contrition to her growing to-do list. Mike Colter stars as David Acosta, a former journalist newly ordained as a Catholic priest with lipstick on his turned around collar. Aasif Mandvi plays Ben Shakir, a former carpenter now nailing it on calls of fakery. The most recurring villain is Michael Emerson’s Dr. Leland Townsend, who may be on a first name familiarity with the devil itself.

Kurt Fuller plays Kristen’s therapist Dr. Boggs. The series also stars Brooklyn Shuck, Skylar Gray, Maddy Crocco and Dalya Knapp.

No guest stars have been yet announced for Evil season 3.

Evil Season 3 Trailer

The teaser promises a tasty arc for Evil season 3. David administers the holy spirit, Ben breaks the tension, and Kristen learns to speak silent volumes with a forked tongue.

Evil Season 3 Story

Evil season 3 “begins moments after the end of season two: when a newly ordained David and Kristen kiss,” according to the official teaser synopsis. Moving forward “the two not only have to navigate this fraught new reality, but contend with David’s involvement with ‘the entity,’ an espionage unit within the Catholic church. Meanwhile, Ben finds his brain breaking from their unsolved cases and turns to his sister for help.”

In the Evil Season 2 finale, David was ordained as a priest, and may have broken his very first vow. He gives absolution to Kristen, who confesses she got away with murder. It was a good deed paid forward. The victim was the serial murderer Orson LeRoux. Episode ended with a kiss.

The season 2 finale also opened new depths to Sheryl’s relationship with Leland, his friend Edward played by Tim Matheson, and the underground society where they congregate. Sister Andrea revealed there are 60 families in this satanic cabal. They are not genetically connected but take on more etheric roots. When one in the circle dies, their replacement also takes on the mantle of the sigil their family carries. But you have to eat your way up. Succession happens through cannibalism.

Evil season 3 returns to Paramount+ on Sunday, June 12.
