Bet you’re sick of hearing about voting at this point, yeah? In addition to being a pretty chaotic year to begin with, 2020 was an election here in the U.S. (sorry you had to see us like that, international friends). But while we’re putting that election behind us, we all still have some voting responsibilities yet.

In the coming weeks, Den of Geek will be honoring the best TV, movies, games, books, and comics of 2020. To determine which properties belong on our year-end best-of lists, we have thought long and hard, polled the Den of Geek staff, and crunched the numbers. Most importantly however, we also want to hear from you. Gathered on this page are five ballots corresponding to each of our five beats: TV, Movies, Games, Books, and Comics. From now until Dec. 14 (Dec. 27 for Movies), you can vote on your favorite bits of media from this very strange year.

On each of our best-of lists, the Readers Choice winner will be represented, loud and proud. So if you’ll humor us just this one last time: we are once again asking you to vote.

There’s no question that 2020 changed the nature of the movie business forever. Theaters were closed for much of the year and studios were forced to play scheduling hot potato, culminating with Warner Bros. radical decision to move Wonder Woman 1984 (and eventually its entire 2021) slate to streaming. Amid all that chaos, however, were some really great movies. Now it’s up to you to highlight them. As with all the other ballots, vote for your five favorite movies. This poll will stay open considerably longer than the other ones, as some movies of note won’t be released until as late as Christmas day.

The Best Movies of 2020 will be released on Dec. 30.

TV

Voting Open from Dec. 8 through Dec. 14

While the pandemic kept much of Hollywood shuttered throughout the year, television mostly carried on, as it often seems to do. There was no shortage of viable, fascinating TV this year and now you can honor it. Simply select your five favorite shows in the above poll to have your vote recorded. We gathered together many of our favorite TV offerings of the year and left you one “Other” option as well for shows that slipped through the cracks. Only series that aired the majority of their episodes this year are eligible.

The Best TV Shows of 2020 will be released on Dec. 16.

Games

Voting Open from Dec. 8 through Dec. 14

As anyone who spent months manipulating the turnip market in Animal Crossing: New Horizons could tell you, games played an important part in keeping us all sane this year. While much of gaming’s discourse looks to the future with the launch of next gen consoles PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, there was plenty to appreciate about the medium’s present in 2020. Above you can vote on your five favorite games of the year. Voting is open now and won’t close until Dec. 14, just in case you want to revisit old favorites…or spend a little time NetRunning in Night City.

The Best Games of 2020 will be released on Dec. 21.

In any given year, our paper and ink (or in some cases screen and rechargeable lithium battery) friends never let us down. 2020 was another good year for Johannes Guttenberg’s creation. New books from Max Brooks, Stephen King, and Suzanne Collins dotted the marketplace while some new scribes made names for themselves as well. You can vote for your five favorite books of the year above. All novels published in the calendar year are fair game.

The Best Books of 2020 will be released on Dec. 22.

While comic book characters dominate new mediums like movies and television, their original multi-panel format continues to do just fine, thank you. 2020 was another banner year for  comics, from continuing superhero stories to touching and compelling indie titles. Since the world of comics is so vast, we’re doing things a little differently with this ballot. Simply write in your five favorite comics from this year for our consideration. And if there is only one title on your mind, only the number one spot in the poll is required.

The Best Comics of 2020 will be released on Dec. 23.
