Call of Duty Warzone: Best Season 4 Guns and Loadouts

While the highlight of Call of Duty: Warzone‘s massive Season 4 update is undoubtedly the battle royale’s much-needed new map (Fortune’s Keep), the game’s latest patch also includes all the weapon nerfs, buffs, and additions we’ve come to expect from new seasons. In fact, Warzone Season 4 might just feature the wildest competitive meta we’ve seen in the game in quite some time.

Granted, Warzone seems to be even more dominated by ARs and SMGs at the moment than it has been in the past, but that doesn’t mean everyone is running around relying on the same weapons. Actually, there are quite a few guns in the game that could easily lay claim to being the absolute best.

That being said, there are a few Warzone weapons that are already managing to stand out in their own ways. Here are some of the best guns in Warzone Season 4 at the moment and the loadouts that will help you get the most out of them.

Call of Duty Warzone Season 4: Best Guns

As noted above, this section is going to feature quite a few ARs and SMGs due to the undeniable power of those weapon classes. However, there are at least a couple of appealing options out there for those who are looking for something different.

STG44

While you can certainly argue about the best assault rifle and overall weapon in Warzone at the moment, the STG 44 absolutely belongs in both of those conversations. 

It’s impossible to ignore the nerfs this gun recently suffered, but they still weren’t enough to ruin what makes this weapon great. It’s fast, fairly powerful, and, most importantly of all, reliable in a variety of scenarios. It’s just a remarkably consistent weapon. 

NZ-41

If the STG 44 isn’t the best AR in Warzone, then the NZ-41 may just be worthy of that honor.

It’s going to take you a little while to get used to the NZ-41’s rate of fire and speed. It’s not the “pick up and play” option the STG 44 is. However, with a little practice and the right attachments, this thing is capable of doing pretty much whatever you ask of it. Definitely give it a shot. 

MP40

Another Warzone update means another Warzone season where the MP40 is one of your absolute best SMG options. 

All things considered, the MP40 is pretty much the same as it ever was. It’s fast, it’s dependable, and it absolutely shreds at close ranges. While the MP40 isn’t so good that you absolutely have to use it over everything else, it’s ultimately hard to argue against what this weapon offers. 

H4 Blixen

More and more players seem convinced that the H4 Blixen is simply broken rather than just good. While I don’t know if this weapon is a real problem quite yet, it has to be said that this SMG is capable of some crazy things. 

The name of this gun’s game is “speed.” This thing’s TTK potential is undeniable, and it can often win close-range fights before they’ve even properly begun. You’re going to have to get used to using this gun at slightly longer ranges, but it’s capable of thriving in quite a few scenarios. 

Cooper Carbine

While the Cooper Carbine is sometimes overlooked in favor of slightly more obvious AR options, you really shouldn’t sleep on this thing’s speed and mobility. 

Functionally, the Cooper occupies a kind of middle-ground between the average Warzone SMG and AR. While it lacks the raw stopping power of the latter weapon class, it absolutely benefits from the speed the former offers. If you prefer an aggressive playstyle but still want to keep your distance during some fights, this is a really nice option. 

Type 100

While it’s hard to go wrong with the MP40 and H4 Blixen, SMG fans looking for the absolute best gun in that class may want to consider the many virtues of the Type 100. 

It’s ultimately this gun’s accuracy that helps put it over the top. It’s as fast as a good SMG should be, but it’s the way this gun allows you to fairly easily stay on your target while also staying on the move that makes it so special. If you find yourself constantly needing to react to sudden engagements, this is the gun that may give you that slight advantage you’re looking for. 

Vargo 52

If you find yourself missing the XM4 of old and are looking for something to help fill the void, the Vargo 52 may prove to be the somewhat unlikely replacement you’ve been searching for. 

This gun lacks some of the more obvious advantages other ARs offer, but it also doesn’t suffer from any notable downsides. It’s accurate, boasts a manageable recoil, and is capable of doing more than respectable amounts of damage at mid-to-long ranges. The right player working with the right loadout can turn this thing into a nightmare. 

HDR

It’s a little too early to tell how things are going to play out quite yet, but it really is looking like large sections of Warzone’s new map are going to be a sniper’s paradise. If that proves to stay true in the long run, then the HDR could end up winning quite a few matches. 

Simply put, the HDR remains the best pure stopping power sniper rifle in Warzone. Granted, that also means that it’s a comically slow weapon, but fire and reload speed tend to matter a little less when you’re talking about a gun that can take most opponents down in just a shot or two. Even if this gun ends up being a little meta-dependent, it’s still a pretty great option

Whitley

Truth be told, I’m not sure any LMG is going to find its way on top of the Warzone meta anytime soon. However, the Whitley offers one of the most appealing overall options in that particular class.

Thanks to some recent buffs, the Whitley is a touch more accurate and a little more dangerous than you may remember it being. While ammo is always a concern with this one, I think that it’s going to catch a lot of people by surprise. I also recommend trying the new UGM-8 out if you want something a little different, though I’m not sold on that gun’s overall potential quite yet. 

Armaguerra 43

While the ordering of this list may lead you to believe that the Armaguerra 43 is your other, other, other, SMG option in Warzone, that’s not entirely the case. Actually, I think this SMG is going to end up becoming a fast favorite amongst certain kinds of Warzone players.

At closer ranges, this gun is capable of taking over fights in a way that even other SMGs can’t quite match. There’s a lot of stopping power in this thing’s relatively small package, and anyone who finds themselves encountering more close-range combat scenarios than before will be glad to have it by their side.

Even the best Warzone weapons need a little help from the right attachments. Just keep in mind that you won’t find any Perk recommendations in this section. I generally tend to feel that your choice of Perk is usually more about your personal preferences and certain situations rather than the idea that there are some undeniably “best” options. On the other hand, these attachments will certainly help you get the most out of your guns.
