Link Tank: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Sequel Has Been Pushed to 2023
We'll have to wait longer for the new Zelda game, The Oscar's ratings are still low, an IT spinoff series is coming, and more in Link Tank!
In order to make something “special” for fans, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 has been delayed until 2023.
“Please don’t shoot the messenger. The Sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has been pushed to spring 2023, Nintendo announced in a brief video today. ‘We previously announced that we were aiming for a 2022 release for this game,’ Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma said. ‘However, we have decided to extend our development time a bit and change the release to spring 2023. For those of you who have been looking forward to releasing this year, we apologize.'”
Actor Elliot Page reveals the first look at Viktor Hargreeves in The Umbrella Academy season 3.
“Elliot Page’s character on Netflix’s hit comic book adaptation, The Umbrella Academy, will be coming out as transgender on the show to reflect the actor. With the third season of the series’ June debut quickly approaching, Page finally introduced us all to Viktor Hargreeves.”
It appears that IT (the movie series) will be getting an HBO Max spinoff show explaining the origins of Pennywise the Clown.
“The deep, disturbing mythology of Stephen King’s creepy creation Pennywise the Clown might be getting its very own streaming series. Currently being referred to as Welcome to Derry, the show, which is currently in the early stages of development, would tell a 1960s-set story in the same timeline as the recent It movies and, somehow, also weave in Pennywise’s origins.”
The good news? The Oscars got significantly better ratings than last year. The bad news? The number is still low enough for the second-worst ever, even with the ratings boost from the slap.
“It may be the only thing anyone’s talking about today, having generated so many utterly bizarre moments that it all seems like a horrific fever dream (They pre-taped a bunch of categories solely so they could cut out the time it takes for the winner to walk to the stage! BTS showed up for five seconds! Flash entered the Speed Force!), and that’s without even counting literally every aspect of the Will Smith/Chris Rock storyline. Unfortunately for the Academy Of Motion Picture Arts And Sciences, though, a completely unhinged show where you never know what’s going to happen or what’s happening currently right before your eyes doesn’t translate to good ratings.”
Speaking of The Oscars, did you know it’s possible to tie for an award? Here are six different occasions when that occurred.
“Only six ties have ever occurred during the Oscars’s more than 90-year history. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) members vote for nominees in their corresponding categories; here are the six times they have come to a split decision.”
A trailer for the last segment of episodes for Netflix’s Ozark has been revealed, along with a late-April release date.
“Netflix on Tuesday shared the official trailer for the second installment of the fourth and final season of Ozark, which is slated for premiere on April 29. Part Two, which will arrive three months following the debut of the first batch of episodes, will pick up where the finale of Part One left off with Julia Garner‘s Ruth out for blood in the aftermath of the murder of her cousin Wyatt.”
