Link Tank: The Book of Boba Fett Has Star Wars: Battlefront Connections
The new Star Wars show is drawing for a classic Star Wars game, Super Smash Bros. latest update nerfed some characters, Adam McKay and Will Ferrell have split, and more in Link Tank!
A new short trailer for The Book of Boba Fett reveals a connection to Star Wars: Battlefront, bringing a specific location to life in live-action.
“Eagle-eyed Redditor u/yunggravyintern noticed a huge reveal within the grounds of Jabba’s palace. The palace itself isn’t new. We know from The Mandalorian that Boba and Fennec take over Jabba’s entire operation. But Jabba’s hangar, the star of a map in the seminal Star Wars game Star Wars: Battlefront, is faithfully recreated in the teaser.”
Agatha actress Kathryn Hahn learned about the title of her own Marvel spinoff series, Agatha: House of Harkness, at the same time the public did.
“Kathryn Hahn came crashing into the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Agatha Harkness and changed us all—mainly because she was just so good on that show. Now, she’s getting her own spinoff series, and fans are excited about what the show could mean for Agatha, Wanda, and the future of the MCU.”
Before the release of The Matrix Resurrections this Christmas, let’s take a look back at the most divisive film in the franchise, The Matrix Reloaded.
“The world’s excitement for the 2003 release of The Matrix Reloaded was quantifiable. When the original Matrix opened in 1999, it grossed a respectable $28 million on its opening weekend. Four years later, Reloaded grossed almost three times that to the tune of about $92 million, one of the biggest opening weekends ever at the time. The Matrix had officially become a mega-franchise and everyone headed to the theater to see how Neo, Trinity, and Morpheus would attempt to battle the machines and save humanity.”
Will Ferrell and Adam McKay, the actor/director duo behind Anchorman and more, have officially parted ways as producing partners.
“Adam McKay hasn’t directed Will Ferrell—a guy with who his career was once synonymous within a movie since 2013. (That was Anchorman 2.) You could possibly chalk said professional split up to the divergent paths of the two long-time friends and producing partners’ careers, as McKay has focused in recent years on political movies like Vice and the upcoming Don’t Look Up (and building a wider production portfolio), and Ferrell put his focus on being, well, Will Ferrell: Professional funny actor guy.”
The most recent update to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate nerfs down and buffs up certain characters.
“While this isn’t the last Super Smash Bros. Ultimate update, the game’s official Twitter points out that Ver. 13.0.1 will be the final game balance patch. ‘With this the balance tuning is complete,’ game creator Masahiro Sakurai wrote on Twitter. ‘Thank you for your hard work to all those involved in the fix.’ The update notes, which can be read below, made a series of changes to the fighters and their moves—but not to all characters, mind you.”
Netflix gears up for Awards season with its upcoming release schedule for December 2021.
“The year may be almost over, but things are heating up over at Netflix. December will see the return of several of the streaming giant’s biggest shows, including Cobra Kai and The Witcher, plus movies like Jane Campion’s The Power of the Dog, which is already generating lots of Oscar buzz for star Benedict Cumberbatch.”
