Gerry Anderson's Thunderbirds is returning to television in 2015, and here's who's voicing the characters...

Earlier this year came news that Gerry Anderson's Thunderbirds is returning to ITV with Thunderbirds Are Go!, which prompted us to scribble a wish-list of what we'd like to see in the new series. A role for Grandma Tracy (tick!) and the return of the original series' Parker (sort of tick! Close enough anyway) were two such items.

Here are the actors announced as voicing Anderson's well-loved characters in this modern update...

David Graham as Parker

Bringing continuity from the original series to the new is David Graham, the voice of Brains, Gordon Tracy and more in the sixties Thunderbirds. Graham is to bring Lady Penelope's chauffeur Parker to life in this iteration of the series.

Rosamund Pike as Lady Penelope

There's no prerequisite for voice actors to resemble their on-screen characters of course, but the resemblance can't be denied between The World's End and Wrath of the Titans' Rosamund Pike and Lady Penelope Creighton-Ward. “I’m very excited to bring Lady Penelope’s wry wit and taste for adventure to a new generation,” Pike says of the new series, “The scripts are very modern, very fresh and very funny.”

Kayvan Novak as Brains

Fonejacker, Facejacker and Four Lions' Kayvan Novak is to (figuratively) don the hipster glasses and voice Brains, the engineering genius originally voiced by David Graham.

Thomas Brodie-Sangster as Gordon and John Tracy

Love Actually and Game of Thrones' Thomas Brodie-Sangster is taking on twin roles, providing the voices of brothers Gordon and John Tracy, pilots of Thunderbird 4 and 5 respectively.

Rasmus Hardiker as Scott and Alan Tracy

Lead Balloon, Your Highness and Saxondale is likely whence you'll recognise the face of brilliantly named Rasmus Hardiker. The actor is to voice Thunderbird 1 pilot, Scott Tracy, as well as the youngest of the Tracy boys, Alan.

Sandra Dickinson as Grandma Tracy

Sandra Dickinson is perhaps best recgonised in geek circles for her role as Trillian in The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy TV series (and of course, for her Time Lord connections being the mother-in-law to David Tennant, and ex-wife of Peter Davison). She'll be voicing the part of Grandma Tracy in Thunderbirds Are Go!

Angel Coulby as Kayo

Merlin's Angel Coulby has been cast as one of two new regulars in Thunderbirds Are Go!, a character named Kayo. Adjoa Andoh is playing fellow new creation Colonel Casey.

Finally then, are experienced voice actors David Menkin as Virgil Tracy and Andres Williams as The Hood. We'll bring you more on Thunderbirds Are Go! as it arrives.

If there's ever a live-action version of Archer then David Parker has to be the obvious candidate to play Woodhouse.

No Shane Rimmer? Boo.

is it cgi?

Hold your horses, Jeff Tracy hasn't been cast yet.

If they had ANY sense - they'd air it opposite Doctor Who.

Colonel Casey isn't a new character....he was in the episode 'Edge of Impact' in charge of the Red Arrow Programme
