Vin Diesel Buys Rights to xXx Franchise, Plans Sequel

Diesel now owns the action franchise and is prepping xXx 4 with xXx: Return of Xander Cage director D.J. Caruso.

Between the Riddick films, The Fast and the Furious, and even Guardians of the Galaxy, Vin Diesel knows his way around a film franchise. Diesel actually owns the rights to the Riddick franchise, and now he owns another one.

On Tuesday, it was announced that Diesel and his One Race Films had partnered with finance and production company The H Collective to acquire the rights to the xXx franchise, purchasing from Revolution Studios.

This news comes on the heels of the announcement for a new installment, xXx 4. xXx: Return of Xander Cage director D.J. Caruso will return to helm the new sequel with Diesel of course et to reprise his role as extreme sports athlete/secret agent Xander Cage. Production on the film is expected to begin December 2018.

xXx 4 will be financed by H Collective, alongside investment partners including Sparkle Roll Media, HCH Media, Dadi Cinema, and Angeleno Studio. Along with Diesel, Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum will produce, as well as Samantha Vincent for One Race Films and The H Collective.
