The Killer Closer Shows How to Get Murderers to Talk on ID
Homicide Detective Lindy Gligorijevic confesses to a relentless pursuit for justice in ID's new series The Killer Closer.
Lindy Gligorijevic was a 23-year-old single mom when she joined the Los Angeles Police Department’s Hollywood division in 1985. She was one of very few women on the force. In her 30 years in law enforcement, she investigated rapes, child abuse, domestic violence, robbery, and five years investigating homicides. The Chief Investigator for the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office will revisit her most shocking cases with the Foothill Homicide Unit in Investigation Discovery’s all-new series, The Killer Closer, which premieres Friday, August 10 at 10 p.m.
“In the shadow of the Hollywood sign on the outskirts of Los Angeles are the city’s roughest neighborhoods,” reads the official synopsis. “In the late 1990s, LAPD’s Foothill Homicide Unit investigated hundreds of murders, but only Detective Lindy Gligorijevic was dubbed ‘the killer closer.'”
Detective Gligorijevic knows she can’t “bring closure to someone who’s lost a loved one to murder,” but she is “driven by the need to give her victims a voice.” On the five-episode season series Gligorijevic details how she solved each crime, and reveals how she “convinced the most cold-blooded killers to confess.”
The Killer Closer premieres Friday, August 10 at 10 p.m. with “Roadside Homicide.” Gligorijevic investigates the death of a “young woman whose body is found in the back seat of her burned out car. Detective Lindy pieces together the victim’s last hours and identifies the suspect, only to learn he is on the run,” according to the official synopsis.
On “Deadly Dessert,” which premieres Friday, August 17, Gligorijevic handles a “baffling case after a man opens fire on a ninja who broke into his home. As she unravels the events that led up to the shooting, it becomes a race to arrest the would-be killer before they finish the job.”
In “Motel Murder,” the LAPD Homicide Detective works a “gruesome case after two young men are shot at a seedy hotel,” according to the synopsis. “Once the suspects are located, Lindy faces a stalemate as she tries to determine which one will give up his friend as the killer.” The episode premieres Friday, August 24.

In “Deadly Reunion,” which premieres Friday, August 31, Detective Gligorijevic investigates a “bloody scene after a woman is stabbed to death. With no witnesses and a suspect unwilling to talk, Lindy needs physical evidence to prove her hunch about who killed the victim.”
The season ends with “The Last Straw” on Friday, September 7. LAPD Homicide Detective Lindy Gligorijevic investigates “after a man calls 911 for shooting his girlfriend. After an hours-long standoff and an attempt to rescue the victim, Detective Lindy must prove the shooter had intent to kill,” according to the official synopsis.
