Adapted from the manga of the same name by Hajime Isayama, Attack on Titan has been a staple series for anime fans around the world since its premiere in 2013. With a satisfying conclusion of season 3, part 2 finaleAttack on Titan has primed itself for an even more amazing fourth season going into the new year.

Attack on Titan season 4 will be the final batch of episodes for the impressive anime franchise. This was expected given the show’s progress with the manga’s storyline but it still a bit of a bummer all the same. Thankfully, there is still quite a bit for Eren and friends to deal with. The season 3 finale found humanity dealing with the truth of what really went on in Grisha’s basement. Now the Survey Corps have left the confines of Wall Maria and are set to uncover the mysteries of Paradis Island. Here is everything we know about the final season of Attack on Titan.

Attack on Titan Season 4 Trailer

The first official trailer for Attack on Titan season 4 has arrived! There’s certainly a lot to process here. The early frames match the end of season 3’s elegiac tone with a lone eagle soaring through the sky. But nothing gold can stay in this world and soon enough we’re treated to a clash of Titans.

Our very own Attack on Titan reviewer Daniel Kurland broke down the trailer here.

Attack on Titan Season 4 Release Date

The premiere of Attack on Titan season 4 was previously set for Fall of 2020, with the exact date to be determined. But on Sept. 22, Crunchyroll and Funimation both reported that they expected the final season “by the end of this year,” leading some fans to speculate that the season has been slightly delayed. Whenever the season arrives, it will likely receive two parts of 10 to 12 episodes, as was the case with season 3.

Isayama has reportedly said back in April of 2019 that the manga will likely end within one or two years. While this is undoubtably a hard news to take for long-time fans, the timing of the manga and the anime’s endings will see the franchise to an orderly conclusion.
