The Suicide Squad Headlines Next Issue of Den of Geek Magazine
The next issue of Den of Geek is coming on April 27, and we've got the inside scoop on The Suicide Squad! Check out the details...
The next issue of Den of Geek is almost here, and it’s a big one. The biggest one we’ve ever done, as a matter of fact. We are proud to announce that The Suicide Squad is gracing the cover of the next issue, and it’s no exaggeration to say that this is our biggest cover story EVER.
How big? Well, for starters, that’s a veritable dirty dozen DC heroes, villains, antiheroes, freaks, misfits, and outcasts on our cover… the largest assemblage of stars we’ve ever attempted. And that story giving you the inside scoop on The Suicide Squad? Well, that’s packed with exclusive interviews with James Gunn, Margot Robbie, Idris Elba, John Cena, and Joel Kinnaman. It’s a lot, but how else were we supposed to cover the biggest, craziest, most violent DC war movie of all time?
And if that’s not enough, we’ve got insights, previews, and perspectives on everything from A Quiet Place Part II to Loki to Resident Evil Village to the new characters and biggest creative stars of DC Comics. Not to mention a summer movie preview full of blockbusters that are actually going to be released this summer!
So how can you get your hands on a copy? If you’re not already one of our thousands of lucky readers with free subscriptions, you can still get the latest of Den of Geek absolutely free of charge from one of these fine independently owned and operated comic shops and retailers. We’re in all 50 states (as well as places that should be states like Washington, DC and Puerto Rico), and these folks are giving our magazines away to customers for free.
I’ll be honest, it’s kind of important to me personally that we’re available in comic book stores. When I was a kid in the pre-internet days, it wasn’t all that easy to find other people who loved sci-fi, superheroes, horror, games, and other good stuff as it is today. My local comic shop was staffed by knowledgeable, kind, and very patient folks who treated this lonely little kid like a grown-up whenever I lingered in there for far too long asking way too many questions. It’s really exciting to be a part of something that can now go in the same shopping bag as someone’s weekly or monthly comics purchases, at the kind of business that gave me so much comfort as a kid.
This is a long way of saying: local comic shops could use your support. Yes, the internet is convenient, and yeah, we’re all a little freaked out by the pandemic. But small businesses across the board have struggled for the last year, and comic shops were no exception. If getting a copy of Den of Geek is an excuse for you to visit one of these retailers who have agreed to carry it, please do it, and please try and spend a few bucks with these folks while you’re there.
Oh yeah, you probably want to see that amazing cover…
The next issue of Den of Geek will arrive on April 27. And remember, if you aren’t already a subscriber, hit one of these stores to get your copy! And we’ll have even more goodies from The Suicide Squad rolling out on site in May, so stay tuned…
