Cars 3 had its world premiere last weekend at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California (annual home of WonderCon and D23), and ahead of the festivities there was also a press junket staged for the film. The centerpiece of that was a pair of press conferences featuring the cast and creatives — the first one showcased Owen Wilson (Lightning McQueen), Cristela Alonzo (Cruz Ramirez), director Brian Fee, producer Kevin Reher, Armie Hammer (Jackson Storm) and Kerry Washington (Natalie Certain), while the second featured Fee and Reher again along with Nathan Fillion (Sterling), Larry the Cable Guy (Mater), Lea DeLaria (Miss Fritter) and Isiah Whitlock Jr. (River Scott).
Both were moderated by former auto racing crew chief and ESPN analyst Ray Evernham. In the videos below, the cast and filmmakers discuss bringing Cars 3 and its bevy of colorful characters to life, adding a strong female component to the proceedings this time around in the character of Cruz, and why the Cars franchise has remained a favorite with fans.
Cars 3 is out in theaters this Friday (June 16).
