Link Tank: The Wonder Twins Movie Has Been Cancelled

The Wonder Twins movie isn't moving forward, Tomb Raider is getting sold, LEGO made a Baby Groot, and more in Link Tank!

Two weeks after the cast was announced, DC pulled the plug on their announced Wonder Twins movie.

“Just months after Warner Bros. Discovery announced that it would adapt the beloved Wonder Twins comic into a live-action DC Comics film, the studio has put a halt on productions, reportedly canceling the project. That Hashtag Show recently reported that the crew was informed last week that the live-action project will be scrapped, even before production has begun.”

Loki star Tom Hiddleston hints that the second season of the Marvel series will be even more chaotic than the first.

“We Loki fans are desperate for news of Loki Season 2, set to begin filming this summer at London’s Pinewood Studios. It’s torturous, knowing that somewhere out there, scripts have been written, and a select group of people already know what’s going to come next for our beloved God of Mischief. Back in 1990, Tom Cruise said it would be “irresponsible” to make a sequel to Top Gun. Over three decades later, the classic film is finally getting a follow-up.

“Tom Cruise’s latest movie, a sequel to his classic 1986 action pic, Top Gun, is finally getting a release later this month after delays related to the covid-19 pandemic. But Cruise, who’s now 59 years old, felt very different about doing a sequel to the film back in 1990. In fact, Cruise said making a sequel would be ‘irresponsible’ and suggested any continuation of the story could be interpreted as pro-war propaganda.”

The Tomb Raider video game franchise was just sold along with a number of other titles.

“The Embracer Group, a planet-swallowing mass of video game publishers that already includes the likes of Gearbox and THQ Nordic, tonight announced a deal to purchase a number of storied studios and properties from Square Enix. While the purchase isn’t final—this is just ‘an agreement to acquire; them until everything is signed off later in the year—the announcement press release says that if approved it will be a USD$300 million deal.”
