Link Tank: Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Legendaries Revealed
The new legendary Pokémon are here, the Gotham Knights trailer has arrived, Stranger Things is shattering records, and more in Link Tank!
A new trailer for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet gives us our best look at the game’s legendary pocket monsters.
“Hot professors! Four-player co-op! Lechonk! Today, the Pokémon Company dumped a trove of info about the next mainline Pokémon versions for Switch, Scarlet and Violet, including the release date (November 18, 2022). But a new trailer also pulled back the curtain on the two new version-specific legendary Pokémon, Koraidon and Miraidon, teasing them in a brief pre-rendered cinematic. They look very silly.”
Not only has Stranger Things taken over online chatter recently, but the fourth season also debuted to the biggest numbers in the history of Netflix this past weekend.
“The first half of Stranger Things 4 has set a new Netflix premiere record. According to reports, Volume 1 now holds the record for the biggest opening weekend of an English-language original series with a total of 287 million hours viewed from May 23 to May 30. The total, however, only comes from three days out of that week as it hit the streamer on May 27.”
West Side Story breakout star Rachel Zegler has been cast in the leading role of the upcoming The Hunger Games prequel.
“May the odds be ever in Rachel Zegler’s favor. The West Side Story star has been cast in the highly anticipated Hunger Games prequel, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. The film, based on Suzanne Collins’ 2020 bestseller, follows the adventures of young Coriolanus Snow, long before he would become the villainous president of Panem. Snow was played by Donald Sutherland in the original films and will be played by Tom Blyth (Billy the Kid, The Gilded Age) in the new film. Zegler will play a new tribute Lucy Gray Baird.”
In what looks like something that might’ve been a hit show in 2004, The CW unveiled a new trailer for their upcoming DC series Gotham Knights.
“Amid all of the CW’s cancellation announcements, new shows have still been in the works (I know, that’s the way TV works, but it still feels a little weird). Today we got a first look at the Gotham Knights trailer, and while eagle-eyed hardcore Batman fans might be able to figure out which teenage anti-heroes are starring in the show, most of us have to rely on Wikipedia in order to figure out who these children are supposed to be.”
Val Kilmer’s voice in Top Gun: Maverick was recreated using artificial intelligence technology.
“Top Gun: Maverick soared into theaters this past Memorial Day weekend, bringing back Tom Cruise’s reckless Navy pilot Maverick, shirtless group sports activities, and Kenny Loggins’ 1980s hit ‘Danger Zone.’ The sequel also brings back Maverick’s Top Gun rival, the blonde highlights-having Iceman (played by Val Kilmer).”

Note the clever use of pearl gold satchels around the Infinity Stones attached to the knuckles!”
