Another breakout star from Euphoria has joined the Sony Spider-Man universe, this time with Sydney Sweeney. Has the studio found their Spider-Gwen or Black Cat?
“Deadline shared yesterday that Euphoria actress Sydney Sweeney would be joining Dakota Johnson in Sony Pictures’ Madame Web, but there’s no word yet as to which character in the Spider-Man universe she will be. In the comics, Madame Web has been depicted as an elderly woman named Cassandra Webb, with clairvoyant and precognitive mutant abilities that she uses to ‘help’ Spider-Man. I put help in quotes because she’s a sassy lady and sometimes painfully vague.”

Fan-favorite What We Do in the Shadows actor Harvey Guillén has been cast in two upcoming DC projects.
“Following the announcement that The Suicide Squad director James Gunn will be playing himself on the upcoming third season of Harley Quinn, Deadline confirms that Harvey Guillén will also be joining the cast as Nightwing. It’s the second DC project in short succession for the What We Do in the Shadows fan favorite; this Dick Grayson news comes after the announcement that he’s also co-starring in the live-action Blue Beetle film.”
The Harder They Fall director Jeymes Samuel is set to direct a comic book adaptation for Netflix.
“Jupiter’s Legacy failed to take off at Netflix, but the streaming service will be damned if it doesn’t get some deconstructionist take on superheroes going! Amazon has The Boys, HBO Max has Peacemaker, Hulu probably has one as well, so why can’t Netflix have a thing that dares to ask ‘what if superheroes were actually bad?’ Well, get ready for Irredeemable, Netflix’s adaptation of the Boom! series from Mark Waid and Peter Krause that’s more or less about exactly that.”
Are you a fan of cult classics? Here are some of the greatest sleeper hits in cinematic history.
“What defines a ‘cult classic’ film? Unfortunately, there exists no cohesive, comprehensive, widely recognized definition that can be used to classify a film as either undeniably cult or undeniably not. It’s all far too slippery.”
Which movie has received the most nominations in awards history?
“The 94th Academy Awards fall on March 27 this year, and several artists have already made Oscars history with their nominations. Ahead of the ceremony in 2022, let’s take a look back at the movies that broke awards records in years past.”
