We all know that a certain degree of faithfulness to the original material matters when it comes to adaptation, but how much does it, really?

“Watching the Artemis Fowl trailer left me feeling a way I haven’t felt in a while. The older I get, the less evangelical I am about the accuracy in how much film adaptions are like their source material. Reverence to the material doesn’t mean a good film, and sometimes things work better when your mind can imagine the horror while reading than actually putting demonically possessed hedges in a film.”

“Apple Store Geniuses have been told that replacement iPhones will be scarcely available for two to four weeks. Apple is encouraging them to offer loaner iPhones for now to help alleviate the delay and so customers aren’t left without a handset. Apple employees who wish to remain anonymous have also commented that there seems to be a shortage of individual parts for repairs.”
