Link Tank: Baron Zemo’s Dancing in Falcon and Winter Soldier Takes Internet by Storm
The Baron Zemo dancing meme, the Eta Aquariid meteor shower, the end of Yahoo Answers, and more in today's Link Tank!
The latest breakout character of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is an old face, Baron Zemo, whose dance moves in episode 3 captivated the internet.
“I should start this off by saying that, for years, I made fun of our Kaila Hale-Stern and her love of Baron Zemo. She loves him so much, and I just didn’t get it. After the most recent episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, I will admit that I was wrong. Zemo was broken out of jail by Bucky Barnes when they needed him to figure out what was happening with some super soldiers, and honestly, Zemo rolling out of jail and putting on a nice coat to get on his private plane is weirdly hilarious.”
Wyatt Russell gets into all the subtle ways why the audience hate his Falcon and Winter Soldier character, John Walker.
“As the new Captain America, Russell’s Walker is among the more brilliant innovations of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. He’s a marine with a chip on his shoulder, government-backed for his resumé rather than hand-picked for his heart. Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes alike are repelled by the guy wearing Steve Rogers’ legacy, and with each passing episode, they seem justified.”

Prepare to say goodbye to another relic of the internet. Yahoo is officially retiring Yahoo Answers after 15 years.
“Yahoo announced on Monday that it will soon send its Answers service to that great trash bin in the sky, bringing about 15 years’ worth of absurd, typo-ridden questioning and equally irreverent answering to an end. Yahoo Answers will be read-only as of April 20, and fully defunct by May 4, the company said. After that, Yahoo says that typing in its URL will simply take you to Yahoo’s homepage.”
Apple CEO Tim Cook says he’s “probably not” going to be at Apple in ten years.
“Tim Cook has been at Apple for 23 years and the CEO for the last 10 years, but on the question of him still being at the company in another decade, the answer is ‘probably not.’ That’s the answer Cook gave to Kara Swisher in the latest episode of The New York Times Sway podcast. Swisher asked Cook, ‘Are you going to be at Apple 10 more years?'”
The 2017 meme chef known as Salt Bae appeared on last weekend’s Saturday Nigh Live, and he was… weird.
“You know those things that look cool on camera or sound nice in concept, like live ASMR events and sensory deprivation tanks, but just end up being kind of uncomfortable and weird in person? Salt Bae, the meme chef of freakin’ 2017, seems like he’d be one of those things. The sensual seasoning merchant popped up on this weekend’s Saturday Night Live…”
