Brock Lesnar Staying With WWE, Roman Reigns Rematch Coming
Brock Lesnar has re-signed with WWE, and Roman Reigns isn't happy about it. But fans aren't happy with Roman Reigns.
Well, we got our answer. Brock Lesnar re-signed with WWE on Monday, just one day after he beat Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 34 to retain the WWE Universal Championship.
Lesnar will defend the title next on April 27 at The Greatest Royal Rumble event in Saudi Arabia, which will be streamed live on WWE Network.
Reigns, for some reason, is unhappy about this.
If you missed Monday Night Raw last night, Reigns thought this was all part of some big conspiracy against him. Boo hoo, he’s going to get another title shot? Is that what he was saying?
“Vince couldn’t even look me in the eye and smarten me up,” he said. Lesnar is one hell of a businessman, because on Wednesday, word got out that he was going back to the UFC, and today WWE said he signed a new contract. “Now I have another match against Lesnar, in a cage, that I had no clue about until I found out about it on the internet.”
Lesnar said he doesn’t know what WWE is scheming, but if they keep giving him title matches, he’ll win the title. That’s how you want to get over a babyface Roman Reigns?
Reigns, who was beaten cleanly and handily in the main event on Sunday night probably doesn’t even deserve another title match. Yet here he gets one and he’s boo-boo faced about it? It’s a big conspiracy that WWE keeps giving him title matches!
What’s unfortunate is that WWE is going to double down on Reigns. It was noticeable that WWE didn’t announce a term with “re-signing” Lesnar. Was it for one year? Five years? Or just one more match against Reigns on April 27.
Lesnar, for what it’s worth, was not at Monday Night Raw.
I think Reigns is right, this all is a conspiracy. But not in the way he thinks it is.
WWE knew the reaction at WrestleMania was going to be what it was. Reigns is instead going to win the title at The Greatest Royal Rumble, in front of 60,000 fans in a big stadium setting in front of a much friendlier audience. Instead of listening to their audience and adjusting plans, Vince McMahon is going to do what he’s been doing for three years with Reigns, and that’s push ahead like nothing at all is wrong with the reaction he keeps getting.
WWE will have its moment and the video of fireworks going off in a big stadium while Reigns celebrates with the Universal Title.
They even set up Reigns’ first title defense … Samoa Joe came out and dissed him on Raw this week. Reigns vs. Joe for the Universal Title will main event Backlash on May 6, is my guess.
Will Vince McMahon get his way? Yes, he will. Will it work long term? As he likes to say, “no chance in hell.”
