Roswell, New Mexico Season 2 Cast

Roswell, New Mexico is turning to the past to fill out its cast. Producers announced at New York Comic Con 2019 that Jason Behr, who played Max Evans in the original Roswell series, has ben added to Roswell, New Mexico season 2. There’s no word on who he could be playing yet but it’s described as a secret character with deep ties to Roswell, New Mexico’s history. So uh…Max Evans?

Also announced at NYCC 2019 is that Gaius Charles has been added to the Roswell, New Mexico season 2 cast. Charles, who is best known for playing runningback Smash Williams on Friday Night Lights, will play a farmer named Bronson. Bronson will be a part of the show’s 1947 storyline.

Roswell, New Mexico has added Grand Hotel‘s Justina Adorno to its cast for Season 2 in a recurring role. According to EW, Adorno will play Steph, a “witty, sharp-tongued, well-educated young woman, who isn’t afraid to express her opinions — even though they tend toward controversial in some circles. Steph never apologizes for being her entire self.” Steph will show up in Season 2, Episode 2.

The show has also added Cassandra Jean Amell (yes, the CW’s Amell Empire expands). According to THR, Amell will be playing the recurring role of Louise, “an alien seeking refuge in 1947 Roswell, the year of the real-life UFO incident there.”

Roswell, New Mexico Season 2 News

One of the coolest Roswell, New Mexico Season 2 updates is that the show has hired Alanna Bennett as a writer for its sophomore season. Bennett has been a culture writer, reporter, and critic for roughly a decade, where she has written for sites like Buzzfeed, The Mary Sue, and Bustle, among others. Her script The Love Club, was on the 2018 Blacklist. I am very excited to see how her addition to the staff influences the show.

Roswell, New Mexico is an immigration-themed reboot of the former WB Network/UPN drama and an adaptation of the book series source material that came before it. It stars Jeanie Mason, Nathan Parsons, Tyler Blackburn, and Michael Trevino. Carina Adly MacKenzie acts as the showrunner, with Julie Plec as an executive producer. They will both return for Season 2.

Roswell, New Mexico Season 2 Story Details

What can we expect from Season 2? Less Max, says showrunner Carina MacKenzie. Talking to TV Insider, she elaborated that we will be exploring some of Max’s “backstory” regarding how the aliens landed in Roswell back in 1947 and what happened after.

“We’re not going to forget about him,” says MacKenzie, “but we definitely open Season 2 in the place where Liz is dealing with two extremely conflicting emotions: extraordinary grief and extraordinary joy.”

Meanwhile, as Alex’s brother Flint helps their father build an anti-alien bioweapon, MacKenzie teases: “Where is Alex going to fall [in the alien-human conflict]?”

And if you thought Rosa getting her life was going to come without complication, then you would be wrong.

“Her little sister is now her older sister,” says MacKenzie. “She is, because of this ‘miracle,’ a person who is essentially undocumented in a whole new way. She’s still a teenage drug addict.”
