Phase Two of the Marvel Cinematic Universe built on the foundations of the first batch of movies with a few sequels (Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Age Of Ultron), a threequel (Iron Man 3) and a couple of new introductions (Guardians Of The Galaxy, Ant-Man). And while there were inevitably some high points and not-so-high points, Phase Two really set the franchise on the road to Infinity War, uncovering more Infinity Stones and properly introducing us to the MCU’s ultimate big bad, Thanos.
Of course, there’s not long to go now before we finally get to see the much-anticipated culmination of the Infinity Saga, as Marvel chief Kevin Feige is now calling it. Now Avengers: Endgame has brought Phase Three to its climax, we’ve been revisiting the entire series, looking back at the legacy, best bits and shared-universe connections of each film. And with our Ant-Man recap, we’ve now reached the second checkpoint on our epic journey: the end of Phase Two.
