We Bare Bears Getting Movie and Spinoff

The lovable trio of Grizz, Panda, and Ice Bear will get their own big adventure in 2020!

We Bare Bears has delighted audiences for years on Cartoon Network but now they’re taking it to the next level, a movie! Set to premiere in 2020 on Cartoon Network as a TV movie, We Bare Bears the Movie will, “follow the stackable bear bros as their love of food trucks and internet fame leads to a bit of unexpected mayhem. Grizz (Eric Edelstein), Panda (Bobby Moynihan) and Ice Bear (Demetri Martin) will find themselves having to go on a wild, dangerous and likely hilarious adventure to escape a foe who threatens to tear them apart.”

(Thanks to the LA Times for that description.)

A big adventure for the bears seems like it could be a lot of fun, especially if the film is given a higher budget than the show. Just imagine all the wacky things the animation team could do having the Bears in a big action chase sequence! The show has also never had a story go for longer than twenty-two minutes so seeing what adventures the bears could get up to over an hour and a half? This could be a blast.

Along with the TV movie news we also learned that Cartoon Network is developing a spinoff focused on the Baby Bears. For those who aren’t familiar with the series, every so often the show will do an episode set when Grizz, Panda, and Ice Bear were kids. While only one or two of these episodes were included in earlier seasons, recently they’ve taken up more and more of the episode count. Seems like Cartoon Network loves those adorable bears!

Series creator Daniel Chong is set to executive produce both the spinoff and the TV movie.
