The Walking Dead Season 10: Carol Faces Alpha in First Episode 9 Clip

The Walking Dead season 10 ended the first half of its run on a cliffhanger, with Daryl, Carol, Aaron, Jerry, Magna, Connie, Yumiko, and Kelly falling right into the hands of Alpha and her walker horde. Trapped in a cave full of the undead, our heroes have only minutes to spare before they become dinner. 

The midseason premiere will pick up where the last episode left off, with the Alexandrians trying to figure out a way out of Alpha’s walker cave, but with no escape in sight, it’ll be interesting to see how showrunner Angela Kang writes the characters out of this one. While it’d be pretty shocking for Daryl or Carol to die in a midseason premiere, those fan-favorites are probably safe. It’s the rest of the group who should be worried about an untimely exit from the series. Aaron, in particular, has been on a bit of a downward spiral since the death of Jesus in season 9. Could this cave become his final resting place?

Besides resolving the cliffhanger, the second half of season 10 will also have to deal with the whereabouts of Lydia, who ran back into Whisperer territory earlier in the season after she received a less than warm welcome in Alexandria. Will she rejoin Alpha’s ranks or will she be the one to bring down her bloodthirsty mother once and for all?

Speaking of joining the ranks, the Whisperers have a Negan-sized nuisance on their hands at the moment. Negan wants in and will do anything it takes to serve an intrigued Alpha. But Beta doesn’t trust him, which could mean that trouble is brewing inside the Whisperer ranks. 

And then there’s Michonne, who left for a Navy base with Virgil, hoping to secure the weapons her people need to defeat the Whisperers in the inevitable war that’s just days away from breaking out. With Danai Guirira set to leave the show by the end of season 10, this voyage could be Michonne’s last. 

But before we get there, Daryl and Carol have to deal with their cave problem. Check out the first clip from the midseason premiere:

The Walking Dead returns to find our group of survivors are trapped. Some in the confines of a cave filled with walkers, while others are caught in a spiral of suspicion and grief. All orchestrated at the hand of Alpha, who continues to prove the Whisperers are always watching, and one step ahead of the communities. Which includes the new and potentially deadly threat of having added Negan to their ranks.

Through this conflict and all they’ve lost, a few still hold onto hope, especially Eugene, who believes the mysterious voice he spoke with on the radio may lead to their world getting bigger once again.

But with the Whisperer War upon them, the collective communities must come together and possibly sacrifice all they have to find a way to silence the Whispers once and for all. Otherwise Alpha will ensure they face a certain doom.
