Star Trek: Picard Series May Not Reunite TNG Cast
Don't expect a full Star Trek: The Next Generation reunion when Picard hits CBS All Access.
CBS All Access’s untitled Star Trek Jean-Luc Picard spinoff series is moving forward swiftly, and it’s been revealed that it’ll arrive this year, which is great! Absolutely something to look forward to.
It looks like the series won’t be chock-full of standalone adventures for the former Captain, when it finally lands on our screens. In an interview with Yahoo! Entertainment, Patrick Stewart, who will be reprising the role of Picard at CBS AA, has said that the team on the new show “are writing a ten-hour movie” and that they’re all hoping for more than one season to transpire. This could be a matter of phrasing from the actor, but the idea that the series will be one long arc for the character is delightfully appealing.

A recent panel at Awesome Con (via TrekMovie) allowed Stewart’s former Star Trek: The Next Generation co-stars to take questions from the audience.
Wil Wheaton, Jonathan Frakes, Brent Spiner, Gates McFadden, and Marina Sirtis were all in attendance, and McFadden was asked if she would like to make an appearance on the new series.
“Of course, I’d love to but I have not been approached,” McFadden confirmed, before Sirtis added “None of us knows anything. They’re guarding that show like the nuclear codes.”
Frakes, for his part, knows at least a little something! He revealed that he’s gearing up to shoot his episodes on the series. For now, we only know for sure that he’ll be behind the camera, but does the show ultimately plan to have any TNG actors share the screen with Stewart?
We, like you, will have to wait and see. You can read more about the still untitled Picard series right here.
