To keep us entertained while we impatiently await series 5 of Inside No. 9, a Halloween special is set to be broadcast live (what!) on BBC Two.
Presumably due to Halloween being a holy time for Reece Shearsmith (just see his Twitter profile for proof), it’s not airing on the day itself but on Sunday the 28th of October at 10pm.
You can read more about the episode, titled Dead Line, here. And you can see a chilling retro-styled poster in the Tweet below…
Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith are hard at work writing the brand new episode, but further details are currently being kept under wraps.
“The storylines are yet to be revealed, but a lot of people will be shitting themselves, especially in compliance,” remarked the Beeb’s controller of comedy commissioning, Shane Allen, via Chortle.
Is that a real quote? Who can say. We hope so.
A much more standard statement arrived from the BBC later, however:
“As with all previous episodes of Inside No.9, this brand new 30-minute story promises to be a twisted tale which will aim to surprise, delight, unnerve and amuse in equal measure.”
We can’t stop thinking about Ghostwatch…
