Disney+: Every Disney Channel Original Movie Available to Stream

Wondering which Disney Channel Original Movies have made it onto the Disney+ platform? We've got you covered.

Zoom, zoom, zoom. Make my heart go boom boom. Disney+ is here.

Much of the focus around the launch of Disney’s new streaming service platform has been on its flashiest of assets—your Star Wars and your Marvel movies and TV shows. But Disney is a massive media conglomerate with more assets in one of its mouse ears than most media companies have in their whole being. Yes, we’re talking about Disney Channel Original Movies (affectionately known as DCOM).

You’ve got your Zenon (Zenon: Girl of the 21st CenturyZenon: The Zequel, and Zenon: Z3). You’ve got your High School Musical (the original, High School Musical 2, and Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure). You’ve got your Luck of the Irish. If you are an older millennial or anyone who enjoys earnest, quality content featuring teenagers, then you have one more reason to consider making the Disney+ plunge.

Here’s a full list of Disney Channel Original Movies available to stream on Disney+ along with a few of our favorites picked out right at the start.

Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century, Zenon: The Zequel, Zenon: Z3

I may have tipped my hand with the opening line of this article, but Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century was my Disney Channel jam when I was a youth. DCOM aren’t necessarily known for their science fiction programming (spaceships cost money, you know, and these are made-for-TV movies), but the Zenon series was a major, delightful outlier.

Starring Kirsten Storms as the titular Zenon, the first film follows a 13-year-old girl who has grown up on a space station who is banished to Earth when she gets in trouble with the space station’s commander. Zetus lapetus! This franchise also stars a young Raven-Symoneand Gregory Smith (Small Soldiers, Everwood, would go on to direct in the Arrowverse).

High School Musical, High School Musical 2, Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure

I don’t need to tell you about the epicness of the High School Musical franchise, do I? This is the movie that launched not only other movies (including one that was released in theaters), but also foreign adaptations, a Bad Lip Reading vid, a concert tour, a stage musical, an ice tour, a book series, video games, and a reality competition show.

Most recently, Disney+ has launched High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, a 10-episode mockumentary-esque series that follows a group of teenagers as they put on High School Musical: The Musical at their high school. Yeah, it’s meta, and I’m surprised I haven’t started binging it yet.

Cadet Kelly

Starring Disney Channel superstars Hilary Duff and Christy Carlson Romano (of Even Stevens fame), Cadet Kelly stars Duff as Kelly Collins, an artsy teenager who is forced to attend a military high school when her mother marries a Brigadier General. The premise is probably too complex for the DCOM structure to conquer, but this film is worth a watch for the charisma of Duff and Romano alone.

A Ring of Endless Light

Starring pre-The O.C. Mischa Barton and Smart House’s Ryan Merriman, A Ring of Endless Light is a much-overlooked DCOM film. I have never been able to resist a Madeleine L’Engle adaptation, and A Ring of Endless Light is no different. The story follows 16-year-old Vicky Austin during her summer trip to stay with her ill grandfather on Seven Bay Island. Once there, she discovers that her grandfather is sicker than she thought, and, oh yeah, that she may be able to communicate telepathically with dolphins. This one’s an emotional roller coaster, folks.

The Thirteenth Year

That feeling when you turn 13 and realize you’re a merman? Yeah, this is the entire, glorious premiere of The Thirteenth Year, and you should definitely watch it. There’s not enough mermaid content out there, honestly.

Those are just a few of our favorites to start you off, but check out the list of all the rest of the Disney Channel Original Movies available on Disney+ below!
