The Den of Geek Podcast: SDCC 2019 Highlights
In our two-part podcast, we talk to our editors about some of the biggest news to come out of San Diego Comic Con 2019.
There has been plenty of news coming out of San Diego Comic Con this weekend, but there were definitely bigger moments that we wanted to talk about with some of our staff who were in attendance for some of the most surprising announcements. Movies Editor David Crow and Editor-in-Chief Mike Cecchini took some time out of their busy schedule to share their impressions of what made SDCC 2019 particularly special.
The first part of our podcast came on Thursday night when things were just getting started. David Crow had attended New Line’s ScareDiego off-site event and was excited to report some of the highlights from the It: Chapter Two panel, which featured some great anecdotes from director Andrés Muschietti and stars Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy, and Bill Hader. We also chatted about the Terminator: Dark Fate panel and the surprise appearance afterwards of Tom Cruise to talk about Top Gun: Maverick.

The second part of the podcast was recorded on Sunday morning after the mind-blowing announcements from Marvel. Mike Cecchini joined us to share his opinions of the most significant news to come out of the Hall H panel and to give us a little background behind some of the new titles announced, including Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, the surprise revival of Blade, and the animated What If? We also talked about the Crisis on Infinite Earths implications for the DCTV shows on The CW.
