Apex Legends Season 4: Release Date, Trailer, Characters, Weapons, and News

Apex Legends season 4 will introduce some exciting changes. Here's what we know...

Apex Legends Season 4

Apex Legends Season 4 is on the way, and it’s bringing at least one new playable Legend with it as well as a host of alterations and additions.

Notably, this season will change Apex Legends‘ ranked mode quite a bit. Basically, the upcoming season of ranked play will be divided into two “splits.” The first split will take place on the World’s Edge map while the second will be located in Kings Canyon. Players will earn a ranking for each split and end of season awards will be based on your overall ranking across both splits. You can read more about how this will all work via the Apex Legends website

You can also expect to see some major changes to the World’s Edge map thanks to an accident involving Hammond Robotics machinery that has caused lava to leak throughout the arena. Along with the expected visual additions that will bring, players can expect to see new areas of the map open up as a result of this event while other sections have been blocked off or otherwise altered.

Apex Legends has come a long way since the debut of its disappointing initial Battle Pass. While the game has endured some controversies since then, it’s still one of our favorite titles of 2019 and a battle royale that’s certainly worth losing some hours to.

Here’s everything else we know about Apex Legends Season 4.

Apex Legends Season 4 Release Date

Apex Legends Season 4 is expected to begin on February 4.

Apex Legends Season 4 Characters

Revenant will join Apex Legends as the first of what could end up being multiple Season 4 characters. He’s a professional assassin who made a name for himself among the Apex Legends fanbase by seemingly killing a character known as Forge.

The new legend’s abilities include faster wall climbing and crouching, a poison dagger that can reveal an enemy’s location, a kind of silence grenade that can shut down the abilities of anyone hit by it for a short time, a kind of fade ability that allows him to dodge damage, and a totem that will allow people to resurrect themselves with limited HP. We’re still waiting on confirmation of his full abilities, though, so it’s possible his final skills may differ slightly.

Apex Legends Season 4 Weapons

Apex Legends‘ Season 4 updates include a new sniper rifle known as the Sentinel. The sniper rifle is described as a bolt-action model that features a charge mechanic which lets you score some incredibly hits. It sounds like you’ll even be able to charge your shots for extra damage. It also allows you to quickly fire weaker shots which may make it more flexible than other long-range options.

Apex Legends Season 4 Trailers

This Apex Legends trailer sheds a little light on the mystery of the game’s next playable character by introducing us to a robotic assassin named Revenant. He’ll be the first new playable character added to the game as part of the Season 4 update, and if this trailer is any indication, he’s going to be a force to be reckoned with.

The first trailer for a character known as Forge who was believed to be the next Apex Legends hero suggested that he may have actually been killed by Revenant. That theory is supported by some in-game Easter eggs that seem to also suggest that Forge was killed during the interview shown in the recently released trailer. Everyone is still waiting to see if this “death” is permanent, though, so don’t be surprised if you see Forge rise again.
