Heroes season 3 episode 8 review

I think that as much as we all want this show to be absolutely brilliant, and we all saw the potential for that from the first season, there is a danger of taking things way to seriously. This is, after all, a show about people with super-powers! Personally, i watch each episode (from the States on the web and on terestrial TV) and can find merit within them all. I think that the premis of the show is fantastic and definately hope that it doesnt get cut. Heroes is a good escape from 'normality' and i dont agree that it "needs putting out of all our miseries".

To be honest, I found this episode the best from season 3, yet. Sure, it was far from a masterpiece but that is probably down to the corner they painted themselves into during the first half of this season.

It is doubtful all of the episode is completely new, considering the high production values, nevertheless, it is quite obvious this is a complete reboot. The producers had to work with what they got and that is still too much. At least Kring started to get rid of some of the additional and pointless personnel [let's hope he cuts down further and does not pull the Dracula on us]. On several occasions he stated this is a family story, following the Petrellis [include Claire here]. He may just have noticed he needs to come back to them.

Considering the original theme of Guilt-Atonement-Redemption, the way people may do bad things without being bad [i.e. because the don't know enough, exemplified in Peter and Hiro] I find it refreshing to give an explanation for Sylar that goes far beyond 'Oh, he's just evil incarnate'.

Let's hope the producers and writers follow through and make Heroes>/i> interesting again.

A reboot is not too far from the realms of possibility...especially as the next 'volume' (4) starts with episode 14. Also, all of the criticism that they have received about season 2 and now season 3 would obviously lend itself to the shows creator putting things 'back on track'.

I agree with Dierk. This is the best from season three. But that's how it is when you link and connect moments and people that you like in ways that you know probably happened. To be honest, they need to get rid of the storyline that 'Someone goes the the future, sees its bad, and comes back hoping to change it.' It was good once, maybe even twice, considering that Five Years Gone is a pretty good effort. But FIVE TIMES?
