Portals of Hell Season 2 Premieres on Friday the 13th

Travel Channel promises to show us a hell of a time as Jack Osbourne and Katrina Weidman plunge into Portals to Hell season 2.

The son of rock’s prince of darkness and the paranormal investigator who specializes in real fear will take a sledgehammer to open Portals to Hell season 2. Jack Osbourne (the son of Black Sabbath lead vocalist Ozzy Osbourne) and Katrina Weidman will explore historically haunted locations beginning on Friday the 13th of March. Travel Channel will air the two-hour season premiere, which uncovers the terrors which have been kept locked up inside Ohio’s Old Paulding Jail, at 9 p.m.

Paulding, Ohio’s Old Paulding Jail is almost 150 years old. The site is rumored to be haunted by the spirits of former inmates, sheriffs and the victim of a 60-year-old cold case crime. The truth is submerged under a “sea of rumors, cover-ups and theories of what happened to the young woman who was murdered,” according to the official synopsis, and the pair seek the advice of a psychic for clarity. “Determined to find out more, Osbourne and Weidman break down the last remaining sealed jail cell in the basement … and are shocked to discover large bone fragments scattered within.”

“Katrina and I are breaking down walls – literally,” said Osbourne. “We have unprecedented access to a number of locations and are also the first team to ever investigate some of them for TV. They’re incredibly active sites for the paranormal, and we’re going all in to try and capture substantial evidence.”

In the course of the investigation, Osbourne has a “paranormal experience that will forever change him as an investigator and truth seeker,” according to the official synopsis.

Eight additional hour-long episodes will air at their regular 10 p.m. timeslot beginning Friday, March 20 including Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield, the prison from Stephen King‘s The Shawshank Redemption.

“This season is intense,” Weidman said in a statement. “Jack and I purposefully explore locations that embody the darker side of the paranormal as we try to understand why certain places evoke more sinister activity than others.”

The pair will also travels to Fort William Henry in Lake George, New York, the site of “one of the bloodiest massacres in Colonial America;” Denver, Colorado’s Croke-Patterson Mansion which has been “plagued with paranormal activity since its creation” a 130 years ago.

Paranormal investigators Osbourne and Weidman sift through sinister stories of the supernatural “from bygone pasts” in search of concrete evidence that a spirit world exists. The pair “filters through extensive research, utilize advanced scientific equipment and enlist a network of specialists, including psychic mediums, to try and exhume answers behind these terrifying hauntings,” according to the press statement.

Season 2 will also book a room at “a deadly Thomas House Hotel (Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee), a once-thriving natural springs resort where guests fell victim to deadly waters; Iron Island Museum (Buffalo, New York), a century-old building that is rumored to house not one, but two, portals; Haunted Hill House (Mineral Wells, Texas), a hellish location plagued by rumors of demonic activity; and Shanghai Tunnels (Portland, Oregon), a network of underground tunnels notorious for its role in slavery and kidnapping victims.”

“It’s exciting to see what new discoveries we can make in the paranormal field,” Weidman said in a statement. “Yet as we explore the unexplained, we can only presume to know what we’re working with. At the end of the day we really don’t, and that’s the scary part.”

Jack Osbourne is also executive producer of Biography: The Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne, which will premiere at this year’s SXSW festival. Jack is best known for MTV’s reality show The Osbournes, SyFy’s Haunted Highway, and A+E Network’s Ozzy & Jack’s World Detour.

Weidman’s breakthrough came on A+E’s Paranormal State, where she worked on hundreds of cases of unexplained supernatural phenomena and interviewed thousands of witnesses. She also co-hosted and produced Paranormal Lockdown on TLC and Destination America, as well as Chiller’s Real Fear: The Truth Behind the Movies (2012) and The Truth Behind More Movies (2013).

Portals to Hell returns on Friday, March 13, at 9 p.m. On Friday, March 20, it moves to its regular 10 p.m. timeslot on Travel Channel.
