Star Wars Pinball Is the First Star Wars Game for Nintendo Switch

Star Wars Pinball, the best Star Wars story of the modern era, comes to the Nintendo Switch this September.

Due largely to Nintendo’s slow roll of classic games and the current state of Star Wars gaming, there are remarkably no Star Wars games available for Nintendo Switch. This glaring oversight is about to be corrected by Star Wars Pinball, which is coming to the Nintendo Switch.

“Zen Studios announced that Star Wars Pinball is coming to Nintendo Switch,” reads the press release announcement for the game. “Star Wars Pinball will debut with its entire collection of 19 digital pinball tables that span all three Star Wars eras and will take full advantage of the Nintendo Switch’s unique functionalities, like HD Rumble and vertical play orientation. In addition to its digital availability through the Nintendo eShop, Star Wars Pinball will also hit retail shelves for the first time ever as a physical product, exclusively for Nintendo Switch.”

This collection will also boast some new gameplay modes exclusive to the Nintendo Switch. These include a career mode that allows you to work through 50 career ranks as you unlock new force powers that can provide score modifiers and other rewards. There’s also a new Galactic Struggle mode that allows players to pledge fo the light side or the dark side and add to their team’s global point totals through gameplay.

Just like previous versions, Star Wars Pinball features boards, characters, and references from a variety of Star Wars eras, including the original and new trilogy. TV series The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels are also represented in the game.

Star Wars Pinball will launch for Nintendo Switch on September 13 as both a physical product and digital download.
