Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order – Every Confirmed Character Explained

From familiar faces to new hopes, here's everyone you'll meet in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is an upcoming single-player game from Respawn and EA. Putting players in the shoes of a Padawan-level Jedi that managed to survive Order 66, the game is an action-adventure title with lightsaber combat that will – prepare for a fun fact – allow for limb dismemberment in “select cases.”

As is always the case in Star Wars, you can expect to meet a cast of colorful characters with difficult-to-spell names in Fallen Order. And if you just can’t wait to get to know these characters, we’ve decided to write a cribsheet to give you the inside track.

Read on to discover all the key players, that we currently know of, that will appear in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

Cal Kestis

Cal Kestis

The player-character in Fallen Order is Cal Kestis, who was undergoing Jedi training when Darth Sidious executed Order 66 during Revenge Of The Sith. Cal is one of the few Jedi that managed to survive being killed by Stormtroopers during this Emperor-ordered massacre.

And here’s a fun fact for you: Cal is played by Cameron Monaghan, who Gotham fans will recognize as the actor that played Jerome and Jeremiah (both of whom had Joker-y tendencies) in Fox’s Batman prequel.

When the main story of Fallen Order kicks off, a while after Order 66, Cal is trying not to stand out. He’s been blending in and seems to be working at some kind of building site. However, an accident forces Cal to reveal his powers, which sets the Empire on his tail. He ends up making new friends, including an iconic figure from the Rebel Alliance.

Saw Gerrera

Saw Gerrera

With Forest Whitaker reprising his role from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Star Wars Rebels, Saw Gerrera will make an appearance in Fallen Order. You can learn more about where exactly the game fits in Saw’s established Star Wars timeline at this link.

It remains to be seen exactly how large Saw’s role will be in the game, but the fact that he doesn’t have robot legs or breathing apparatus suggests that he’s still quite mobile at this point in his life. We know that he’ll feature in a level that Respawn has demoed that takes place on the Imperial-occupied Wookiee homeworld of Kashyyyk.

It’ll be interesting to see if any other key Rebel Alliance figures show up in the game. We certainly wouldn’t say no to a Mon Mothma or Cassian Andor appearance, the latter of which could help tease Diego Luna’s upcoming Disney+ show about the character.

BD-1

BD-1

Your main companion in the game will be the droid BD-1, which is believed to stand (at least in the real world) for Buddy Droid 1. Much like Iden Versio’s droid ID10, which you may have already controlled within Star Wars Battlefront 2‘s story mode, BD-1 will accompany you through missions and serve several functional purposes along the way.

BD-1, who was designed to look something like a rubber duck, will probably come in handy for opening doors, accessing difficult areas and gathering data. We’re also hoping for some cute moments in cut scenes and a proper emotional connection between Cal and BD-1.

Cere

Cere

Avatar actress Debra Wilson plays a former Jedi Knight called Cere, who will take on something of a mentor role in the game. After Cal is outed as a Jedi, it looks like he’ll be taken in by Cere and shown the ropes of rebelling against the Empire.

Cere, according to Game Informer‘s highly informative cover story about Fallen Order, thinks that she might be able to restore the Jedi Order. Of course, with the hindsight of having seen the movies, we know that she probably doesn’t. But still, hope is a powerful commodity in the Star Wars galaxy, and Cere seems to have it in abundance.

The Second Sister

The Second Sister

Fans of Star Wars Rebels will be familiar with The Inquisitorius, a gaggle of Force-sensitive villains that work for the Empire and use snazzy spinning lightsabers to try and murder Jedi. The Second Sister – real name and identity unknown – is a member of this group and will serve as the main villainous threat in Fallen Order.

The Second Sister is strong in the Force, as proven by one of the game’s trailers, which shows her clinging to the outside of the ship and using her skills to remotely maneuver the gearstick in the cockpit. She should be a tough opponent for Cal to face, especially considering that Cal never finished his Jedi training and has been lying low for a while.

It’ll be interesting to see if any of the Second Sister’s famous allies appear in the game, too. This female foe was previously teased in the comic book Darth Vader: Dark Lord Of The Sith… could that have been a clue that the suited-up Anakin Skywalker will appear in the game? We can dream!

Purge Troopers

Purge Troopers

Backing up the Second Sister will be Purge Troopers, who have shiny black suits and a decent arsenal of weaponry. These clones of Jango Fett have been trained in spotting and fighting Jedi, and they have electroblade weapons that allow them to block your lightsaber. It’s unclear at this point whether any of the Purge Troopers will have discernible personalities. We do know that they work for the Second Sister, though, and that you’ll often fight Purge Troopers before going up against the big bad.

Greez

Greez

And finally, Greez Dritus is the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order character that we know the least about. He’s clearly an alien, though, and we know from Game Informer‘s piece that he is the captain and pilot of the game’s main ship, The Stinger Mantis.

Greez was apparently inspired by John C. Reilly and Mr. Furley from Three’s Company, which makes us think he’ll be something of a comedic character. We look forward to seeing how he interacts with Cal, Cere, Saw and the rest of the characters in the game. Could this become another motley crew that Star Wars fans will come to love?
