Steven Universe Future: Return Dates and Finale Episode Details Revealed
The saga of Steven Universe is coming to an end and we know exactly when it'll air.
It’s been a wild ride with Steven Universe. From first airing in 2013 through today, the franchise has grown and changed in ways no one would have ever expected. It gained a legion of fans and well-deserved critical acclaim. Sadly though, all things must come to an end. The current season, Steven Universe Future, was described by Cartoon Network as a “epilogue limited series” and it’s been dealing with the fall out of all the major events that came before. There was of course only so much that could have been done with that and, as announced by the Los Angeles Times, there will only be ten more episodes of the series.
Steven Universe Future Return Date
Steven Universe: Future will come back on March 6th, 2020 with two episodes and “additional episodes debuting every Friday.
Steven Universe Future Finale Date
Accordung to the Los Angeles Times, “the four-part series finale is set for March 27.” That means two new episodes will on March 6th, March 13th, and March 20th. That’ll leave the final four-parter for March 27th!

We aren’t sure exactly what will happen in these final episodes but we did get a teaser which gave us a few hints.
— Cartoon Network (@cartoonnetwork) February 20, 2020Well, we know Steven will be really angry and sad but that’s to be expected. Especially after the events of the last episode that aired, ‘Prickly Pair.’ In that episode Steven was forced to confront all the deep questions he’d been avoiding for much of the show (in the form of a cactus because this is Steven Universe.) We can’t wait to see how the show wraps up the emotional arcs for all the characters but especially Steven.
Speaking to the Los Angeles Times, show creator Rebecca Sugar commented, “though our epilogue series is coming to a close, please trust that like us, these characters will always be growing, changing and supporting each other. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for watching our show.”
Maybe this means we’ll get some closure on Steven but everything won’t be wrapped up. That fits with the message the series has been giving us, that you can’t resolve all your issues quickly and it takes time. Perhaps a whole life time.
We can’t wait to see how they end this incredible series.
