15 Times the Writers Literally Forgot About Their Character
Television characters disappear all the time, but usually somebody bothers to explain where they went. They move away, change jobs, get divorced, or receive some suitably dramatic exit. Then there are the unlucky ones who simply stop existing. A sibling heads upstairs and apparently never comes back down. A White House staffer vanishes between seasons. A teacher survives a serious accident only for the show to lose interest in what happened next. There is even a name for this particular kind of television amnesia: “Chuck Cunningham Syndrome”, after one of the most famous missing sitcom characters ever. Here are 15 times a show seemingly forgot it had introduced a character in the first place.

Star Trek Quietly Removed Janice Rand From the Enterprise

MAS*H Never Told Us What Happened to Ho-Jon
