The Dark Knight Rises: latest update
More casting news for Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises has surfaced, and rumours of a teaser trailer pop up, too…
Currently shooting in the UK, Christopher Nolan is hard at work on the final part of his Batman trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises. And he’s added a few faces to his cast, too.
Variety has revealed that Matthew Modine (Full Metal Jacket, Cuttroat Island), Tom Conti (Shirley Valentine, Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence) and Joey King (Ramona And Beezus) have all signed up for the movie.
Modine is set to play a character by the name of Nixon, although who or what Nixon is has not been disclosed. And the exact roles of Conti and 11-year-old King are unknown at this stage. No doubt we’ll all find out in due course.
Meanwhile, rumours are surfacing that the first teaser trailer for the film might be arriving as early as July. If you believe the reports, then Warner Bros is preparing a promo to run before Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2, which opens on July 15th, and that would follow how Warner Bros began to promote The Dark Knight. That film, too, had a teaser out the best part of a year before the movie itself arrived.
That said, there’s little to no chance that, even if a teaser did surface, any material from the film itself would be contained within it.
