Madison Iseman Talks Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween
We talked to Madison Iseman about what to expect from the Goosebumps movie sequel.
Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween hits theaters this week, and Den of Geek’s Bevin had a chance to chat with cast member Madison Iseman at New York Comic Con about what to expect from the spooky sequel. We chat about the book written to accompany the movie, and what it was like acting in front of the real R.L. Stine, who makes a cameo in the film.
Check it out…
Goosebumps 2 is set in the small town of Wardenclyffe on Halloween night. It follows Sonny (Jeremy Ray Taylor) and Sam (Caleel Harris) as they find a manuscript in an abandoned house that was once owned by R.L. Stine.
When the boys open the manuscript, they release Slappy, who has plans to cause a Halloween Apocalypse. (Hint: That’s not good.) Sonny, Sam, and Sonny’s sister Sarah (Iseman) team up with Jack Black’s R.L. Stine. It’s kind of the perfect film for the Halloween season, whether you grew up reading the Stine book series or not.
The first movie in the Goosebumps movie franchise made more than $156 million when it was released in 2015. Ari Sandel is replacing Rob Letterman in the director’s chair for this one, directing from a script written by Rob Lieber from a story by Lieber and Darren Lemke.
Goosebumps: Haunted Halloween also stars Wendi McLendon-Covey as Sonny and Sarah’s mom, Ken Jeong as a Halloween-obsessed neighbor, and Chris Parnell as a local store clerk.
Goosebumps: Haunted Halloween hits theaters on October 12.
