Hobbs & Shaw will arrive in cinematic spinoff splendor this summer to continue the adventures of two of the Fast & Furious franchise’s biggest stars.

With 2017’s The Fate of the Furious helping the Fast & Furious franchise to, once again, leave its box office competition in the dust with another $1 billion-plus global performance, its direct spinoff, Hobbs & Shaw, will reunite that film’s reluctant onscreen duo of Dwayne Johnson’s U.S. Secret Service agent, Luke Hobbs, and Jason Statham’s formerly misguided vengeance-seeking mercenary-turned-good-ish guy, Deckard Shaw.

The film is directed by David Leitch (Deadpool 2).

Hobbs & Shaw Cast

Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham star in this Fast & Furious spin-off.

Eiza Gonzalez (Baby Driver) joined the Hobbs & Shaw main cast in November. While no details were revealed about her role, Variety reports that the mystery character was a last-minute addition at the behest of executives who favored Gonzalez. 

Vanessa Kirby (Mission: Impossible – Fallout) co-stars in the film as Hattie Shaw, sister of Jason Statham’s titular Deckard Shaw. Kirby’s casting received the now-traditional Dwayne Johnson Instagram announcement, accompanied with an official character description.

As Johnson’s post reveals:

“Hattie loves the following. Long walks on the beach. Being a bad ass MI6 operative. Drinking tequila with Hobbs. And not in that order. Hattie also happens to be the sister of Deckard Shaw, who’s played by Jason Statham. It tortures him that his sister Hattie is kickin’ it with Hobbs. His pain makes me very happy.”

Eddie Marsan (Deadpool 2) and Stephanie Vogt (Strike Back) have also been cast in unspecified roles.

Hobbs & Shaw Villain

Idris Elba signed on to smell what The Rock and The Transporter are cooking back in July when he joined Hobbs & Shaw to play the film’s villain. We later learned that the film’s titular duo will be tasked with dodging the guns of Brixton, Elba’s antagonistic character in the film. Moreover, the first image of Elba’s Brixton has been revealed on Dwayne Johnson’s Instagram.
