Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: Fantastic Four DLC Is Coming

Will you bow before Doom or beat him up? Make your choice in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order, Team Ninja’s superhero brawler game that launched exclusively on Nintendo Switch last year, is getting its third major DLC package – and this one promises to be fantastic. It will center on the Fantastic Four going into battle with Doctor Doom.

Set to launch on March 26, the new DLC is titled “Fantastic Four: Shadow of the Doom” and it will bring Mister Fantastic, The Invisible Woman, The Human Torch, and The Thing into the game as well as the aforementioned Victor von Doom. Besides the fact that Marvel’s first family will be fighting Doom in this pack, we don’t actually know much about what this pack will entail. The official artwork atop this page gives you an idea of what it will look like, though.

This is the third major pack to appear in Marvel’s official Expansion Pass for the game, which previously served up chapters called “Marvel Knights: Curse of the Vampire” and “X-Men: Rise of the Phoenix.” The Marvel Knights one featured The Punisher, Blade, Moon Knight, and Morbius, while the X-Men one had Phoenix, Gambit, Iceman, Cable, and more.

Buying the Expansion Pass for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 will currently set you back $19.99 USD. The new pack, “Fantastic Four: Shadow of the Doom”, is scheduled to arrive on 26 March. Until then, here’s some official art of Doctor Doom to get you hyped…

The addition of the Fantastic Four into Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 comes at an interesting time for the iconic superteam with regards to Marvel’s multimedia plans. Now that Disney owns Fox, producer Kevin Feige is free to introduce Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm into the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie franchise. However, beyond vaguely promising that they’re cooking up something, everything Fantastic Four-based is being kept very quiet by Marvel Studios

This has left fans to wildly speculate about who they’d like to see in the next big-screen incarnation of the Fantastic Four – John Krasinski has become a popular choice among fans for the role of Mr Fantastic, and it even seems like the actor himself is up for it.

In the meantime, while we wait for movie plans to become apparent, fans of the Fantastic Four will have to make do with comic book appearances and add-ons to video games. Prior to this Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 event, a Fantastic Four-inspired suit was added to Insomniac’s Spider-Man PS4 game.

Of course, as the multimedia future of Marvel’s first family starts to come to light, we’ll be sure to keep you updated.
