Luke Fox is finally donning the Batwing costume! Batwoman Season 3 will mark the first live-action appearance of the superhero on screen.
“Next season on Batwoman on The CW, actor Camrus Johnson will graduate from ‘guy in the chair’ to ‘guy in a mask; when his character, Luke Fox, fulfills his destiny to become Batwing. This is the first time the character has ever appeared in live-action form and, frankly, his small-screen arrival is long overdue.”
If you’re looking to support actual LGBTQ+ businesses this Pride month, our friends at The Mary Sue have put together a starting list.
“With Pride Month here, a lot of big businesses/brands are already toting the rainbow flag as a means of showing their support. And I love a rainbow just as much as anyone else, but it can feel a little underwhelming and performative—as it often seems that Pride is the only month these brands show their support to the LGBTQ+ community. That’s why I’ve put together a list of LGBTQ+ brands that you can check out and perhaps open your wallet to instead. “

Apple TV+’s first trailer for its alien invasion sci-fi drama looks strangely invasion-free despite its title, Invasion.
“Apple TV+ has made a very interesting choice for the first trailer for its 10-part alien invasion sci-fi drama, simply—ever so simply—titled Invasion. Instead of showing anything about the titular extraterrestrial attack, the trailer is mostly focused on people almost entirely going about their individual lives, which seem to be taking place before something gets invaded?”
After the crazy year that is 2020, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Jon M. Chu’s In the Heights is the perfect first musical movie of 2021.
“After the year we had in 2020, it makes sense that 2021 is shaping up to be the year of the movie musical. At least five major movie musicals are on the calendar, and the all-singing, all-dancing cinematic extravaganza kicks off with the exuberant, joyous, and enervating In the Heights, adapted from Lin-Manuel Miranda’s first Broadway outing and directed by Crazy Rich Asians‘ Jon M. Chu.”
The first episode of Disney+’s Loki TV Series features a nifty custom-made version of a classic computer.
“TVA workers use old electric typewriters and computers that look like they may or may not have existed. (There’s one device, in an elevator, which definitely didn’t exist.) But as Loki walked into the building lobby, something went ‘ding!’ in my mind. Most of the tech in this show appears to be custom-made, but the first episode starts with a true computing classic front and center.”
