15 Vintage Photos of School Life from a Different Feeling Era

Old school photographs have a way of bringing back details we’d almost forgotten. There were desks with names carved into them, typewriters lined up in classrooms, and school buses full of kids with hairstyles their parents probably picked out. Picture day meant dressing up, standing still, and hoping the photographer caught you with your eyes open. Field trips and school dances were worth saving a few photographs of, especially when film wasn’t something you could waste on dozens of attempts. Some pictures are over a century old, while others look like they could have come from a family album in the 1980s. Here are 15 vintage photos of school life from a very different era.
