On the surface, Grown Ups has a lot of promise. Its casts of comedy talent features Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Kevin James, Rob Schneider and David James, and those faces alone should generate a fair number of laughs.

So why is the trailer for the film so brutally unfunny? Assuming the rule of the modern comedy, that all the good jokes are packed into the promo, this doesn't bode well at all for the finished product. We're looking forward to being proved wrong, but surely we should have got at least one solid chuckle out of this. See if you fare any better...

The film arrives on 25th June in the US, with the UK release now confirmed as 6th August.
