Over at ComingSoon, the site has revealed that the intriguing-sounding film of the social networking phenomenon Facebook will be arriving in October.
Entitled The Social Network, the film, at first glance, would scream of silly cash-in, were it not for two things. Firstly, it's being directed by David Fincher, which instantly lends the project some serious gravitas. And then there's the small matter of Aaron Sorkin writing the script. That's a pair of Hollywood heavyweights right there, who instantly shoot The Social Network right near the top of our wish list.
The film itself is going to star Jesse Eisenberg as Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg, with Justin Timberlake playing Sean Parker (the man who co-founding Napster). Andrew Garfield, meanwhile, has signed up to play Eduardo Saverin, the co-founder of Facebook, and the man who fell out with Zuckerberg over cash.
The film is set to be released in the US on October 15th 2010, and one way or another, The Social Network should be one of the most fascinating films of the year...
