The Future of The Walking Dead is Starting to Take Shape
By Alec Bojalad
Despite the main series coming to an end, The Walking Dead has made the future of its franchise quite clear.
The end is nigh for AMC’s The Walking Dead … sort of.
Following the season 10 finale, the main series in The Walking Dead universe has only 30 episodes to go.
These include six extra episodes in season 10.
We’ll get to meet Negan’s wife Lucille (the real one, not the barbed-wire bat).
And will likely get to catch up with the long-lost Maggie as well.
The Walking Dead’s 11th and final season will contain a supersized 24 episodes.
The final arc should take viewers deep into political territory with The Commonwealth.
Then when it’s all said and done, the franchise will carry on like any good zombie.
Fear the Walking Dead is already in its sixth season at AMC.
And The Walking Dead: World Beyond is set for a two-season run.
Following the end of The Walking Dead, proper, long-running characters Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) will get their own spinoff.
That spinoff will be followed by a Tales of The Walking Dead anthology that will cover some lesser-known stories in The Walking Dead universe.
Meaning The Walking Dead isn’t quite so dead yet.
