THE PATRICK STAR SHOW:

PATRICK'S CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

By Lee Parham

Before he got his own spinoff show, Patrick Star has been a supporting character on SpongeBob Squarepants for over two decades. Read up on his best career moments.

Patrick made his television debut in the pilot for SpongeBob titled “Help Wanted.” Despite a brief appearance, the starfish was crucial for the episode's final gag involving the iconic Krabby Patties.

Patrick saw his first major role in the episode “Bubblestand” where SpongeBob sets up a stand to sell bubbles and Patricks pays for it by borrowing money from SpongeBob himself.

Known for his bafoonish actions, Patrick has gone on to become one of the key members of SpongeBob SquarePants and was quickly established as a fan favorite for years to come.

Patrick Star is SpongeBob’s best friend and partner in silly and cartoonish actions. The duo have gone on many ridiculous adventures together throughout the years.

In the episode “Big Pink Loser,” Patricks tries to imitate SpongeBob by working at the Krusty Krab. This episode gave fans the forever-quotable “Is this the Krusty Krab… no this is Patrick” scene.

Perhaps their most iconic outing is 2004’s The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie where SpongeBob and Patrick go on an epic quest to save King Neptune’s crown that covers his bald spot.

Despite his usual tomfoolery, one episode from season 4 sees Patrick gaining access to the full potential of his brain. However, his newfound intelligence destroys his friendships, even with SpongeBob.

Patrick has since been featured in 2 additional SpongeBob films. The first was The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, an Avengers parody featuring Patrick and the rest of the gang as superheroes.

The second was the first fully CGI SpongeBob outing, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run in which SpongeBob and Patrick try to rescue a stolen Gary from the clutches of King Poseidon.

That film led to the first SpongeBob spinoff series titled Kamp Koral which illustrates SpongeBob, Patrick, and friends as young sea creatures getting into shenanigans at a summer camp.

Patrick is now set to star in his own spinoff series The Patrick Star Show where we’re introduced to the remainder of the Star family and Patrick hosts a comedy show for his neighbors.

For over 20 years, Patrick Star has entertained audiences all over the world and has become one of the most recognizable and iconic cartoon characters in recent memory.
