Over the past week, we’ve been building up to the release of the first full trailer for John Carter. Thus, we’ve brought you our thoughts on the twenty minutes of footage that we’ve seen, and yesterday, we also brought you a Q&A with director Andrew Stanton.
Here, though, is the trailer itself, and that sells the movie better than we ever could. We’ve only got until March to wait for it, too. Take a look and see what you think…

I love Andrew Stanton for what he did with Pixar. Judging by this trailer though, I'm not so sure he's suited to live-action. I may still see it, but I'm a little cautious.

I'm not sure on the must see, I've already seen the final 3 Star Wars films :-D
This just appears to have Anakin with no top on and Jar Jar has morphed in to a dog type thing???

I'm currently reading 'A Princess Of Mars' so interested to see how the film compares. I'm sure there will be comparisions to Avatar and other sci-fi movies as the subject matter will be recognisable, but this is on my movie watchlist for 2012

Hmmmm not sure, but very nice use of the track 'Kashmir' though.

lol...What did I just watch? It's like someone took Braveheart, Avatar, Lilo & Stitch and Planet of the Apes and shoved it into a giant blender.
PASS!

Er...that looks awful. Also, at 1:14, is that The Moog from Willo The Wisp?

Yeah... that was so palpably similar to so many other would-be blockbuster trailers that the only possible conclusion is 'meh'.

Based on Stanton's history (Finding Nemo and Wall-E), John Carter will have emotional depth and a sense of humor sorely lacking in most sci-fi movies. NO WAY could that be revealed in a 2-minute trailer. I'm pumped to see this movie.

Have you guys actually read John Carter of Mars? To say it was ahead of its time was an understatement. Its awesome, in a proper old school adventure kind of way. If the film portrays that it will be good.

Is Mark Strong the new Brian Cox?

This trailer has switched me from becoming very skeptical to becoming very hopeful and excited. I can place almost all of those scenes from the first book, save the Matai Shang ones which probably (hopefully) come from the second book.
It's looking awesome.

Oh dear - Attack of the clones was bad enough, do we need a remake this soon? And covering him in blue makeup, whilst jumping on the back of a small flying thing, before leading the natives into battle... The book may have been ahead of its time, but this trailer really isnt. I cant see audiences rushing to this one.

Imagine if you could go back in time and show this to Edgar Rice Burroughs. I think he would be pleased.

Read an Andrew Stanton interview about the film earlier in the year, and it would seem that the film is in safe hands, going by what he's saying and how he comes across (very enthusiastic). Reading the book and really enjoying it! Hope the film matches the enjoyment.
